Frequently asked questions
– How to get to the base
From Moscow and St. Petersburg you can get by plane to the airport of Murmansk, or by train to the railway station in Olenegorsk (the nearest station to Lovozero). Next take a taxi (rented car) to Lovozero. Also, a regular bus runs from Murmansk to Lovozero every day at 15:00 (by appointment). Upon arrival in Lovozero, the further route to the base depends on the season - a snowmobile with a sleigh, a boat or a hovercraft.
– Where will we live?
On the territory of the base there are two cottages for guests. The first cottage is designed for 8 people, the second for 24.
– Are there shower and toilet facilities in the cottages?
Toilets are located in a separate building. You can wash yourself in the sauna, which is heated daily.
– What kind of clothes do I need to take with me?
All clothing must be taken depending on the season, but it must be borne in mind that you are traveling to the North. Our summer is very cold and rainy, so thermal underwear and waterproof, non-blown clothing are a must. In autumn, winter and spring, thermal underwear, warm jackets, hats, mittens and, of course, the most warm shoes are also required, best for fishing. In winter, it is advisable to take balaclavas or buffs, as well as snowmobile goggles.
– How long does it take to get from Lovozero to the base?
In winter, in a sleigh behind a snowmobile - about 40 minutes. In summer, by boat - 50 minutes.
– Will we be able to cook ourselves at the base?
No, this is not possible.
– Is there a barbecue at the base?
There is a brazier, grills, skewers.
– Can we take the fish with us?
Sure! All your catch can be taken home.
– Is it possible to come to the base with small children?
One-year-old guests also came to us. The main thing is that your child is ready to travel by snowmobile or boat.
– Can I take my pet with me?
This issue can be resolved on an individual basis. The base does not provide accommodation for animals in cottages.
